Evoke is an interactive installation which lights up an entire building facade, and allows the public to create light patterns using voice control.

Evoke was on display at this year’s Illuminating York festival. York Minster Cathedral’s entire western facade was used as a projection screen for a huge 80,000 lumen projector. Members of the public with voices of different frequencies, rhythms and other characteristics were able to evoke an almost endless number of different visual patterns that would fill the entire facade of the cathedral.

The animations were “intelligent”, meaning that they, apart from traveling across the surface of the building, would also disappear through windows and other parts of the physical structure.

EasyWeb.fr is a European design firm with specialized expertise in large scale video projections on architecture. The projections are created using a technique called NEOPROJ.

EasyWeb.fr has existed for a few years and they have already produced several spectacular events. Their productions usually explore the forms and structures of buildings with the use of custom made video that is projected onto their facades.

Two videos about environmental problems produced by Tree Media Group and narrated by famous actor Leonardo DiCaprio.

Tree Media Group teamed up with Leonardo DiCaprio to create short video “Water Planet“ about the life giving necessity of fresh water, the ecological threats to it’s continued supply and ways we can turn the tide.

The second video “Global Warming” highlights the ways that our addiction to fossil fuels is threatening our very existence and points to ways we can all be a part of the solution.

Leonardo also created, produced and narrated 2007 documentary film “The 11th Hour“. With contributions from over 50 politicians, scientists, and environmental activists, including former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, physicist Stephen Hawking, Nobel Prize winner Wangari Maathai, and journalist Paul Hawken, the film documents the grave problems facing the planet’s life systems. Global warming, deforestation, mass species extinction, and depletion of the oceans’ habitats are all addressed.

Morph is a concept demonstrating some of the possibilities nanotechnologies might enable in future communication devices. Morph can sense its environment, is energy harvesting and self cleaning .
Morph is a flexible two-piece device that can adapt its shape to different use modes. Nanotechnology enables to have adaptive materials yet rigid forms on demand.
It is also featured in the MoMA online exhibition “Design and the Elastic Mind”. It has been a collaboration project of Nokia Research Center and Cambridge Nanoscience Center.
